Colour Scheme Clash

It’s well known that there are colours that complement each other, and colours that clash. One of the big summer 2021 decor trends is all about the colour clash  – notably with pinks and greens. Other examples of colour clashes would be oranges and blues or yellows and purples. They create a bright and exciting visual when paired together. Of course, you can go all out and find clashing wallpapers, patterns, upholstery, or paints. But even pairing accessories like cushions, rugs or prints can really brighten up a space and add some dimension to your décor. Another great way of doing creating this powerful colour clash is by placing a statement radiator. Adding clashing colours on a wall really makes the radiator stand out as a feature and creates something playful. This works especially well in a larger room such as open plan kitchen/dining rooms or living rooms. These colours don’t always need to be super bright though. Some muted tones like a soft, forest green and warm pastel pink complement each other perfectly. When added with some metallic touches can give a mid-century modern look.

Miami vintage

The 1950s pastel Miami vibe has been a pretty consistent summer trend since it’s conception. It’s experiencing a revival and is hitting the mainstream in 2021. A slightly subtler concept of pastel pinks, blues and mints added with a nautical twist can be a fun way of adding some colour to your home at a low cost. This décor also works well in smaller spaces such as home offices and conservatories too. It’s a relatively fuss free and easy to achieve look. Palm tree prints and gold accessories also add some dimension to this soft beach vibe and can easily be removed if you are keen to keep the decoration in your home more seasonal. Again, added with some metallic finish items can really add to that mid-century modern vibes. With everything that’s happened these last few years, who wouldn’t mind that Miami beach vibe all year round?

Club Tropicana

Tropical décor can be interpreted in several different ways. It can be bright colours and clashing patterns, or more subtle tones and safari-esque concepts. The main aspects of a tropical décor concept are leaf prints and bringing the outdoor space in. You can achieve this by using bold tropical wallpapers or colourful accessories. Use one of our bright custom coloured radiators and complete the look by adding in houseplants with large leaves and greenery. Throw in the odd flamingo print and some neon word lights saying Aloha and you can begin to feel like you are in Hawaii. If you’re not feeling quite so tropical, fruity accessories such as candle holders or fruit bowls also provide that summer relief with a few simple swaps.
