Very happy with paint to order orange radiator

I was abit dubious about ordering as the reviews didn’t seem great. I wanted a bright orange radiator, couldn’t find what I wanted in the right dimensions anywhere else. I am so happy with my radiator, comms and delivery were fine. Arrived sooner that expected. Many thanks!

High quality and good service

Really impressed. Ordered two steel column radiators and they included valves etc for free on the order confirmation page, which was a nice touch. Plumber then cautioned me that cheap column radiators can sometimes be poor quality. He was incredibly surprised when they arrived and said they were really high quality with good welding and no sounds of loose flakes inside. Was really impressed with the price. Three months on they work really well and we're decorating another room so I've just ordered a further one and the same style. Couldn't find an item on their website so called up. Very friendly and helpful lady on the phone advised me which to get and they checked with their warehouse to get one put aside so it could be delivered asap. Really impressed with this company, so far it's been a 'text book' customer experience.

Customer service review

I am reviewing their customer service as the radiators i bought have not yet been plumbed in. I ordered one radiator too many from the in March and only just realised but they honestly could not have been more helpful. Despite having had the radiator here for 6 months, they still agreed for me to return it. They arranged a courier to collect it, without charge and only deducted a repackaging fee of £25. Brilliant company to deal with!

The diagram for installation if the…

The diagram for installation if the radiator shows the centre line position of the top bracket from the top of the radiator to be a minimum of 110mm. This is incorrect.
The top bracket as shown in the side on view is set under the curve of the two columns so it can provide support, in other words the radiator sits on top of it.
I positioned my top brackets about 160mm from the top because I wanted the radiator higher up the wall but realise now that the two top brackets might not provide adequate support, misled by the 110mm dimension. It's all too vague. Now I have to redrill and reposition the top brackets. Phoned Columnrads this morning over 40mins didn't answer. Make the diagrams clearer in future. These radiators not cheap as I make an effort and sort out your Customer Service

Nice radiators but only last a few months

Ordered a lovely radiator. Cheaper than some competitors but far from cheap.

After around 9 months the radiator started going rusty due to a fault in the coating. I contacted Column Rads who after around 3/4 weeks of chasing eventually admitted the fault and replaced the radiator.

The replacement has been fitted for only 5 months and already going rusty. I think I'll spend my time sourcing a replacement from elsewhere.

Lovely looking products but clearly not fit for purpose.

We are sorry to hear this, If we have already exchanged a radiator on your system with signs of rust after 9 months it would have been part of an identified batch and handled by the manufacturer. if the same problem is persisting, regardless of where you buy a replacement I would strongly recommend that you check the water in your heating system with a proprietory water health check from someone like Fernox. systems with none or insufficient system inhibitor may have high acidity and will make any radiator rust. I recommend this strongly.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. I placed an order but confirmation and payment took so long to go through, I thought the transaction hadn't happened. I placed the order again later that day then both orders were processed and double the order was sent to me and charged to my account. Columnrads refused to pay my return postage even though the fault was at their end as their order processing was so slow. We had previously spent almost £3000 with them on other products. Awful awful company. Do not use.

Superb company to deal with

Superb company to deal with. Ordered over £1000 worth of radiators and they turned up far quicker than expected, 2 days.
There was slight damage on the end cover panel of one radiator. One email later and a replacement arrived within 2 days. No quibbles whatsoever. Will definitely use again.

Had to chase up my order as hadnt heard…

Had to chase up my order as hadnt heard a peep since i paid. Was expecting delivery on Tuesday 6th, got a call with a time much later than expected so they said they would deliver Wed 7th and i would be called 45mins in advance. I wasnt so missed delivery then got abuse from delivery driver who was also a liar. Chased the office to get this rectified but no call back from a manager at glasgow depot. Plumber still charged me and I have no radiators which they dont seem to care about so iv had to cancel my order and source elsewhere

30 day return

30 day return? They're not telling you something.
Unless you are 100% sure what you want, do not order from here. We were unhappy with the finish of the radiators we ordered, so wanted to return them and get some replacements sent. Our only option was to either hire a van and drive them ourselves to the warehouse in DAGENHAM, or find OUR OWN COURIER. They wouldn't even recommend one that they use and us pay the fee. Customer service were shocking, passed from pillar to post as if we were the first person to ever want to return a radiator. It's honestly not worth the hassle, shop local.

2nd time of being asked to review

My first review was taken away as trust pilot removed it as like others on here I have never purchased these products despitr pointing the obvious out for others to be made aware.
It would appear that our email address security has neen flawed under data governance. I explained all this to Trust pilot who could not give a definitive response other than we are investigating. Do the same as me, keep the emails & upload them to bbc watch dog, that investigation might work better.

You placed an order with us at Mr Central Heating in July for some radiators. We have a second website dedicated to radiators and valves called columnrads.co.uk.

As part of a new fresher website launch with columnrads, we integrated the columnrads site into the same software that we run Mr Central Heating on, and Trustpilot have given us code to link our new Columnrads site to their review platform.

Unfortunately, it did not work as expected and used our Mr Central Heating database of customers who ordered, to invite to review Columnrads.

No data has been sold to an external company and your data is very safe and we take it extremely safely using Comodo SSL, the highest available for our sites, not only are the account and data areas secured but the entire site is encrypted, a new industry standard.

Again, I am sorry for the confusion, and we are working with Trustpilot to correct their code, hence why they are removing the reviews that where invited for the wrong domain.

Great experience

I had a brilliant experience with Column Rads, particularly Sarah who went above and beyond to get my order to me and make sure I was satisfied. Overall the rads were great, there were a few I wanted to exchange due to inevitable factory defaults and Sarah along with the guys at Erith depot helped me to do so quickly. I would recommend using this company again, lovely rads and at great prices.

Were excellent to deal with when radiators leaked

The raw metal radiators looked fabulous - much admired by visitors. But almost exactly 5 yrs in both of them started leaking. I contacted the company and they were absolutely brilliant in terms of a quick and no fuss replacement - delivered promptly by a very helpful delivery guy. Would definitely deal with them again. Would have been 5 stars if the radiators hadn’t leaked which was pretty stressful - but that is more a manufacturing issue than this company. Happy to have same ones again and 🤞

Nice rads poor service

Have bought from this company a couple of years ago bought again and very nice radiators and valves arrived promptly. Installed by plumber and after 1 month valve is faulty. Reported this back to Columnrads, with no communication from them I was passed directly over to suppliers who blamed everything but their valves and were not very helpful. As a second time customer I feel really let down by the aftersales service and would not purchase again.

Website doesn't indicate items are out of stock.

Placed an order for 16 radiators (just under £4k) and was called after placing order to confirm delivery would be made this Friday. Contacted the day after to be told it would only be a part delivery and there are delays of up to 8 weeks for some items. I can't understand why payments are being taken for items that are not in stock and there is no clear note on columnrads.co.uk that these items are not available. Requested a refund and will have to purchase from an alternative supplier.

Brilliant and a great quality product…

Ordered my bespoke to column hammered volcanic radiator and valves. Was quite unsure of the spec of this item so called customer services a few times. The lady I spoke to was fantastic and didn’t make me feel like an idiot. Pleasant and I’m now considering purchasing my second radiator for the hallway from this company thank you very much for making this a painless and enjoyable process

They sent the wrong colour radiator

I ordered a standard size column radiator in the standard grey colour. They were incapable of dealing with this and sent a white one instead. I had a plumber booked to install it so I have lost time and money. I'll be getting a refund and going to another company. luckily there are loads of alternative suppliers so I'll use one of them to buy the remaining 8 radiators.

I would write a sarcastic review but my 40 years (2nd generation) in the heating industry was impressed by their delivery times but the product is not fit for purpose .
They know it and still carry on .Shame on them .First experience of this in my working life.

Absolutely LOVE our new radiator

Absolutely LOVE our new raw metal lacquered 3 panel radiator, it looks amazing. We bought the 2000 h x 490 w size and it gives off a great amount of heat along with looking the part.
The price was the best on the market too. We upgraded to the fancy valves too, well worth the investment as they really look the part and are superb quality, very heavy.
No issues with delivery either. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend.

Really disappointed with Columnrads …

Really disappointed with Columnrads customer service. Purchased a hammered gold column radiator in late January 2017 but, when it was unpacked, it had a chip in it. Since we had not reported this defect within 72 hours of delivery, Columnrads refused a replacement or repair and tried instead to charge us £40 to have it re-sprayed. Spoke to Matthew, the Managing Director who accused us of causing the damage! We now have to start legal proceedings if we want our money back...
